First I need to say I know very little about the game itself, and I don't really know how Tim is handling the moral choices in his design. This conversation was a trigger and I decided to share my thoughts on the topic.

'Big Pharma' seems to propose a moral dilemma to it's players: Going for the cash or contributing to humanity?

Quick news round: #PTower and global game jam

Some things that are happening:
  • Last weekend I was at the Global Game Jam in Bristol. My team's game "Senseless runner" was awarded the first prize. Yay!
  • On new year's eve I published a new small Dev Diary #2: "Happy new year!"
  • A couple of days ago I published Dev Diary #3: "Magic circles". I will post both of these videos with some aditional comments.
  • I'm working on a small prototype to be released in 4 days from now (edit: It has been a bit more than that). It's meant to be used to help me in the process of finding a way to make a proper announcement of the game during late March. Click the image on the left to check some concept art for it.

Arteleku games laboratory Day 0

I just arrived to San Sebastián ready to start tomorrow the second games laboratory organized by Arteleku.

We have been planning how to create the groups, the formation of ideas and the general flow for working and mentoring them through the 3 days of the workshop-Jam.

I will post a daily summary for the three days. Not sure how much info and details will I be able to incude after all the day working.

A brief description on some work prototyping the movement of a player on a first-person puzzle platformer. I have been working on this design for some time but now I am taking it further. I haven been refering to it as P-Tower, where the P stands for a key point of the game that I am not revealing yet. Anyway, P-Tower sounds like a nice working title. Keep reading to see a snapshot of the movement testing facility.

  • Being a game design teacher at a game jam style workshop at San Sebastian (Spain). 6-8 September
  • "The secrets of game design" A talk I give at Binaris, digital school. Seville (Spain). 18 September
  • Anti-social meeting at Bristol Games Hub. Bristol (UK). 26 September
  • My wedding! 12 October
  • Visiting ExPlay 2013 at Bath (UK). 30 October-1 November

And hopefully more to come. Recently I also joined FullIndieUK which are very interesting people.
Actually I am discovering a lot of groups and movement on game design around Bristol and the South West and I am starting to get to know more people and discover more similar events. I think there may be even more hiding there.
