If I don't count the day I slipped, today it's 42 days since I started publishing everyday. That means going a step further.
Previously, at some point I reviewed my habit roadmap and came up with the following steps:
- Publish something everyday
- interesting
- that involves my creativity or my creations
- that will help me
- on my projects
- allowing me to make a life out of it
I feel tempted to go over this and focus directly on the next one, which leads me to a new review. I think that when working on the "that will help me" step it's going to feel like an abstract goal which will concretize into either "help on my projects" or "help to allow me male a life out of it". So I am thinking about changing the habit roadmap again to:
- Publish something everyday
- interesting
- that involves my creativity or my creations
- helping me to make a life out of it
I take out the step "on my projects" because I am already talking about my projects during step 3, so I won't get anything new there. And I merged the "help" part directly with my final goal which is "making a life out of it".
This looks cleaner and feels more natural, but it also make me realize I am very near the hard part, which is the last step. So I better start doing some tests to be ready when that time comes. That would be 21 days from now.
On a side note. I keep refering this as building my habit, but it is closely related to my personal vision (goal) which has something very important which I am not including in my habit building roadmap. The following is the most relevant part of my personal vision refering to this:
I am working on one or more of my own creative projects thanks to having the skills, resources and contacts that allow me to create freely.
So this is actually a good explanation of why I am building this habit, and in this way. It will give me new or improved skills, help gather resources and allow people to contact me so they can become audience, users or potential collaborators.
Let's see what the next 21 days have to offer!
